Toy2R DIY Qee Expo - Amsterdam (day2)
So I managed to get my ass back to Amsterdam last night and take my camera with me this time!!!!
It was very empty, there were a handful of people that turned up.. I was most pleased I went on the first day!

Like I said I managed to get some of the artists to sign Qees. I also got Raymonds signature on on of the collecter cards. ..woOt!

Toy2R expo Amsterdam
I forgot my flash card... so i have to go back tonight!
i got a few pics on my phone for the moblog but nothing amazing.
However....some great pics from the STICKIT crew & 88 posse, who were most kind and me hang out with them all evening! I got my set of 4 W%D Qees signed and my 2 Ewos Qees signed. Also I got Raymond from Toy2R to sign a postcard for me. (photos will come soon i promise!)

Kubrick Jest Alife
New to the ever growing collection is this super camo Ltd. edition Kubrick toy designed by Jest.
Jest is a member of the design team and contributors behind 'alife' (Graff shop on Orchard Street, NYC). The kubrick is based on the Jest plush doll made from his own surplus camo clothes and original militaria buttons. It has almost become alifes mascot figure... very desirable and very collectible.

Kubrick figures are about 2.5"- 3" tall. There are three kinds: LIMITED, REGULAR (aka Hikimono), and SET. "Limited" Kubrick Figures are found in special promotions, toy conventions, through mail-order, etc. Basically hard to find! Regular "Hikimono" Kubrick figures come individually boxed with 24 figures in a case. Their identity is unknown and what you get is a surprise. On top of this, the figures in each series have a ratio of commonality. Some figures are found 1 in every 196 boxes! YIKES! Needless to say, the rare figures go for a ton on Ebay. Some Hikimono Kubricks, like Maharishi DPM Identifiers are not assorted. "Set" Kubrick Figures come in a box set and are sold as an entire unit, such as Be@rbrick World Wide Tour. (but evrything has a price on Ebay)
Medicom Toys is one of the most unique toy companies in the world. Not only producing for mass market appeal, Medicom reaches out to designers, indy creators, and ...basically the small guys. Because of this, they produce some of the finest toys.
Medicom Toys Japan took their Kubrick, added a big belly and bear head, and voila! - the Be@rbrick was born! Artists (such as STASH, FUTURA, KAWS, PUSHEAD) and licenses (such as Kill Bill, Universal Monsters, Hello Kitty) have used the Be@rbrick as canvas to create innovative designs, making Be@rbrick the first of platform toys to be born.
QEES
This was my first Qee, It was designed by Dutch graffiti artist EWOS (limted 500 pieces)
Qees also are designed by artists, in limited runs and in blind boxes.
Characters include a cat, dog, monkey, bear, egg, Toyer & wolf
They created the Qee Keychain Collection, Knuckle Bear, Rolitoboy , Onion , Toyer, Baby Qee and Boyer toy lines.
So.. on with the show.

FLAG owns a cafe in Amsterdam.
It's favorable interior and his boastful menu attract customers day and night.
Spacious floor is nice and dim, which let unique furniture cast their shadow mysteriously.
Affected shaped audio speaker plays some slow ambient dub with the volume is just right…
Shall we open the menu, and experience something new?

So I like these evil toys because they allow you to own a small piece of art without having to pay huge amounts for it, you get some cool designs, (I especially like the camoflague, graffiti examples) I have a number of signed toys from their respective artists, and even a canvas!
