With the season of good joy just begining, I set off into town yesterday with a trusty list of splendid sticky fruity ingredients for our Christmas cake. I found most of the list in a supermarket, but had to go find the ex-pat shop for the glacé cherries, candypeel and angelica. The recipe came from netcooks.com and I added a few extra things to it like some Pecan Nuts, and some 'spekulaas kruiden' (a mix of christmassy cake herbs - cinnamon, cardamon, ginger, nutmeg and white pepper!) and I don't mind say it looks superb, good distribution of fruit & nuts and a lovely colour/smell mmmmmmmmmmmm!

I've been dousing it with half a bottle of Apricot Brandy that I scavanged from the neighbours last night, it seems to be drinking it quite happily!
All this from the new Kenwood Chef I purchased second hand last week for €50

Bargainous!
The mojitos at the Tokyo Trader Vic's come in a ~8" tall block of ice, bored out to make room for the drink, served with a fat-ass novelty straw (that's a dinner-plate, shown for scale). 20,000 Yen!
I love Mojitos, god knows where this bar is.. but it sure looks like a damn fine serving suggestion!
