Hewlett-Packard Co. claims its little HP 12C is the oldest consumer electronic device still in production.

Do people actually still use calculators?.. I just seem to use the one on whichever PC/laptop is closest.

Yes - I can fit one in a much smaller space and weight than a full computer, and putting fingers to a calculator is usually quicker than switching programs on a desktop.
Very rarely use the full abilities of my scientific calcs., though.

Do you discount radios as consumer electonic devices - Roberts Radio are making retro models, though I don't know if it is merely the packaging which is 'original' and they may well be using modern innards.

think you're right about the new retro models.. they all use modern gubbins inside them, guess this is made with its original spec parts.
..oldest consumer electronic device... so what is the oldest elctronic device?.. the lightbulb?
